Data Points are the raw values that Fran Metrics pulls from your connected integrations. They're the building blocks of everything in reporting — every KPI, every scorecard value, and every trend line starts with a data point.

What Are Data Points?
A data point is a single metric value pulled from an integration source (like QuickBooks, a POS system, Google Reviews, etc.) for a specific unit and time period. Examples include total revenue, number of transactions, average review score, or labor cost.
Creating Data Points
- Navigate to Organization Settings → Data Points
- Click Add Data Point
- Fill in the required fields:
- Name — Follow your organization's naming standards (see below)
- Data Source — Select which integration this data comes from
- Data Type — Currency, Number, Percentage, etc.
- Period Type — Monthly, Weekly, or 4-Week
- Click Save
Data Sources
Data points can come from any connected integration:
- QuickBooks Online — P&L accounts, balance sheet items
- POS Systems (Revel, Shopmonkey, etc.) — Sales, transactions, labor
- Google Reviews — Star ratings, review counts, NPS
- Snowflake / Redshift / Azure — Custom data warehouse queries
- Google Sheets — Manually tracked metrics
- Manual Import — Uploaded via templates
